About the Symposium

The ISCB Student Council and the Regional Student Groups (RSG) are excited to invite you to the 4th African Student Symposium (#AfSCS 2025)! This symposium, held the day before the ISCB Africa ASBCB Conference on Bioinformatics, serves as a vibrant platform for young researchers to present their work, network with peers, and engage with experts in bioinformatics and computational biology.

Abstract Submission

We invite early-career researchers to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations. Submissions should align with topics in bioinformatics and computational biology, including but not limited to:

Submission Guidelines:

  • Abstracts should be 300 words max and structured into four sections:

    • Background: Context and purpose of the study

    • Methodology

    • Results: Key findings

    • Conclusion: Summary and implications

  • Unpublished and previously published work are welcome.

  • Abstracts must be clear, relevant, unique, and complete.

  • Do not include personal details (affiliation, title, etc.) within the abstract.

  • One presentation per author (multiple co-authors allowed, but only the presenting author will receive a certificate).

  • Select between oral only, oral or poster, or poster only during submission.

  • No abbreviations or references allowed.

Abstract submission deadline: March 14, 2025, 23:59 anyhere on Earth.
